Writing has taken me on an adventure. My first career has been Esthetics and makeup artistry, which took me out of my comfort zone first, and led me back to writing. I have ten years under my belt as a Licensed Esthetician, specializing in waxing, lo-fi facials and natural-look makeup. I am uniquely positioned as a beauty professional with journalistic and public relations education.
My love of the craft has had me writing professionally almost since I enrolled in university. I have contributed to The Goshen News, and their publications The hArt and Progress magazine, written copy for a small PR firm and was briefly both a tech blogger and “beer girl” for the same company, been published in local magazine Michiana SASSY, and have work on VerilyMag and P.S. I Love You on Medium. I learned a long time ago that even if a blues legend laughs at you for not knowing enough, asking another question always gets you closer to their story. If I didn’t understand what a startup, tech-term meant, it’s very possible that our readers didn’t either.
I graduated in 2019 with a B.A. in Communication Studies, concentrating in Journalism with a minor in Photojournalism, from Indiana University. In my last year, I was Editor-in-Chief of the campus student newspaper, The Preface. I also worked as an intern, writer and assistant editor on the Ernestine M. Raclin School of the Arts Aspire publication.
From writing articles on campus to crafting press releases and ghostwritten blog posts, I love it all.
